Arctostaphylos uva ursi is a fragrant astringent and antiseptic that acts primarily on the mucous membrane to give it tone and to restrain excessive discharges from bacterial infection. Especially famous for bladder infections with green, phlegmy discharges.

Cautions
There is some evidence to show that this plant should not be used when kidney infection is present. Do not use in pregnancy or lactation and in children under 12 years of age. Take away from other medication or supplements and at last 2 hours clear of food. Do not take in cases of malnutrition.
